Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 18, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Nukta (“Nukta”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the Nukta study companion, related websites, and the Nukta Admin (together, the “Services”).
1. Who we are
Nukta is an AI study companion that helps students learn from syllabus content, practice questions, and educational audio (podcasts). Educators and administrators use the Admin Portal to manage syllabus, questions, podcasts, and user access.
2. Information we collect
We collect information that you provide to us, information generated when you use the Services, and limited technical information needed to operate and secure the Services.
Account and profile
Depending on how you sign up or are invited, this may include phone number, name, email address, password or other credentials, role (for example student, teacher, or admin), and account status.
Study and content activity
We may collect information about syllabus selections, questions you view or attempt, answers you submit, podcasts you play, and similar learning activity so we can provide progress, recommendations, and support.
Content you or your institution provide
Administrators may upload or enter syllabus items, questions, audio, and related educational materials. If you submit prompts, answers, or other content to Nukta’s AI features, we process that content to generate a response and operate the Services.
Device and technical data
We may collect IP address, browser or app type, device identifiers, approximate location derived from IP, log data, crash reports, and diagnostic information. The Admin Portal uses a session cookie to keep you signed in.
3. How we use information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and manage accounts, authenticate users, and provide the Services
- Deliver study content, practice questions, podcasts, and AI-assisted answers
- Operate the Admin Portal so authorized staff can manage content and users
- Improve reliability, personalize learning, and understand how features are used
- Detect, prevent, and investigate fraud, abuse, and security incidents
- Comply with law and respond to lawful requests
- Communicate service updates, security notices, and support replies
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use student learning data to target third-party advertising.
4. AI features
Nukta uses automated systems, including large language models and related tools, to generate study help from your questions and the educational content in the Services. Prompts and related context may be sent to our infrastructure and, where needed, to carefully selected subprocessors that host or run those models. We use this processing to provide the answer or feature you requested, to keep the Services safe, and to improve quality. You should not submit sensitive personal information (such as government ID numbers, financial details, or health information) in prompts unless we expressly ask for it for a supported feature.
5. How we share information
We share information only as needed to run Nukta:
- Service providers. Hosting, storage, analytics, authentication, email or SMS, and AI model providers that process data on our instructions.
- Your school or organization. If your account is managed by an institution or administrator, authorized staff may access account and activity information needed to provide the Service.
- Legal and safety. We may disclose information if required by law, to protect Nukta, our users, or the public, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or similar transaction, subject to appropriate safeguards.
6. Data retention
We keep personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Services, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, and meet legal, tax, and security requirements. When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it, unless a longer period is required by law. Administrators may delete content they manage in the Admin Portal according to their organization’s practices.
7. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information, including encrypted connections, access controls, and session management for the Admin Portal. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. Please use a strong password, keep your credentials confidential, and tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.
8. Children’s privacy
Nukta is built for students and educational use. If a student is below the age at which they can consent to data processing in their country (including under 13 where that standard applies), a parent, guardian, or educational institution should review this policy and authorize use of the Services. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children for marketing. If you believe we have collected information from a child without appropriate consent, contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, update, or delete personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to receive a copy of information you provided. You can often update account details in the app or by asking an administrator. To make a privacy request, use the contact options in Section 13. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request, and some requests may be limited where the law allows (for example, to protect other people or our security).
10. Cookies and similar technologies
The Admin Portal uses a session cookie to remember that you are signed in. We may also store a preference for light or dark appearance on your device. Browsers typically let you block or delete cookies; doing so may prevent you from staying logged in. Mobile apps may use similar local storage or identifiers for the same purposes.
11. International transfers
We may process and store information on servers located in countries other than where you live. Those countries may have different data-protection laws. Where we transfer personal information internationally, we take steps designed to protect it in line with this policy and applicable law.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and, when changes are material, we will provide additional notice through the Services when required. Continued use of the Services after an update means you acknowledge the revised policy.
13. Contact us
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy, want to exercise a privacy right, or need help with your account, contact Nukta through the support options in the Nukta app, or ask the administrator who gave you access to the Nukta Admin.
This page is published so anyone can read our Privacy Policy without signing in. It applies to Nukta and the Nukta Admin.
